Panasonic is planning something big to showcase at the oncoming Photokina show event which will take place in Germany, one of which is a new high budget Android smartphone with 20-megapixel rear sensor, the Lumix DMC-CM1.
The rear camera which is the highlight of the device features a mechanical shutter, a manual control ring, and sports an f/2.8 leica DC ELmarit lens. The phone camera is here to compete with Samsung Galaxy K Zoom. The Lumix DMC-CM1 rear snapper is also capable of recording 4K videos. Though the company has not reveal pricing and availability details, the announcement is expected to be made during the event.
The Panasonic DMC-CM1 features a 4.7-inch display with a full-HD resolution of 1080*1920 pixels, and runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box. It is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, clocked at 2.3GHz alongside with 2GB of RAM.
The smartphone comes with 16GB of built-in storage which can be further expanded up to 128GB via MicroSD card. On the connectivity front, the device features 4G LTE, Bluetooth, Wifi 802.11ac, GPS/A-GPS, 3G, and NFC. It is backed by a 2600mAh battery.
Last month, Panasonic launched a mid-budget Android smartphone in India, the Eluga A, which features a 5-inch display and quad-core Snapdragon processor at Rs 9,490 (approx $158).
