The Taiwanese phone maker HTC, has unveiled a new mid budget smartphone in its homeland. The phone named as Desire 626 was listed on the firm website with a price tag of TWD 5,900 (Roughly $180 USD) without availability details.
The HTC Desire 626 support single SIM (Nano) and runs Android OS (version not known but probably 4.4) out-of-the-box. It features a 5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 720×1280 pixels and packs a 64-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor with a clock speed of 1.2GHz slammed with 1GB of RAM.
Notably, the Desire 626 support 4G LTE which is crucial at that price range. It comes with a 16GB built-in storage that is expandable via MicroSD card (128GB). On the rear, the smartphone packs a 13-megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash and houses a 5-megapixel front camera. Both touts a BSI sensor for clarity.
Connectivity options included are Wifi, Bluetooth, 3G, GPS/A-GPS, GPRS/EDGE, and Micro-USB. The Desire 626 is backed by a 2000mAh rated to deliver up to 30 hours of talk time as claimed by the firm.
Last week, HTC branded Desire 626w was spotted passing through TENAA in China with some of its specifications listed. Surprisingly, its specs are identical with Desire 626 except that it is powered by an octa-core MediaTek processor and not Qualcomm. We expect it go live very soon.
