Panasonic first unveiled its photocentric smartphone Lumix DMC-CM1 at Photokina show in September last year which later went on sale in UK. The good news is, the device will be entering US very soon and it is already available for pre-orders on Adorama with a price tag of $999 USD (Roughly #199,000 NGN).
The Lumix DMC-CM1 also known as Lumix CM1 is more of a camera than a smartphone but it offers both functionality averagely, one not affecting the other. Combining this two elements in a very slim body that measures just 135.4 x 68 x 21.1 mm makes it stand-out from other photocentric smartphones. The rear camera packs a 1 inch sensor and Leica optics, touting a 28mm lens with f/2.8 aperture, which can be manually adjusted through control ring embedded in the camera module for capturing every day in its beauty and recording every single moment in 4K (2560p) resolution.
The camera aspect is very interesting but the smartphone aspect is not disappointing either. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-CM1 features a 4.7-inch full-HD (1080p) display flaunting a pixel density of 469ppi. It is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.3GHz alongside with 2GB of RAM and Adreno 330 GPU.
There is a 16GB of built-in storage onboard which can be further expanded via MicroSD card (up to 128GB). A 20-megapixel autofocus camera is equipped at the upper rear area accompanied with a LED flash while it sports a 1.1-megapixel camera at the front. All internal activities is govern by Android 4.4 KitKat OS while a 2600mAh battery breath life into it.
Connectivity options included are Wifi, Bluetooth, 4G LTE, 3G, GPRS/EDGE, NFC, GPS/A-GPS, and Micro-USB.
Its pricing may be burdensome but does 4K, 20MP Camera with 1 inch sensor, Leica lens doesn’t worth the price? It may.*ADS
