HTC has introduced a new mid-end smartphone under its “Desire” range in Taiwan few days after it launched 10 Evo in same region. The Desire 650 as named, is listed on the firm website along with its specifications, while pricing and availability details are not revealed.
The first noticeable thing about this new HTC device is its double-standard rear design. The first half of the rear made of plastic have a smooth surface, while the other half have what the firm called streamline engraving, which increases the stability of grip when holding the device.
Specwise, the Desire 650 features a 5-inch TFT LCD display with a HD resolution of 1280×720 pixel and pixel density of 294ppi. It is powered by an unspecified quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor of unknown clock speed, coupled with 2GB of RAM. It includes a 16GB of built-in storage that is further expandable up to 2TB via MicroSD card.
The smartphone runs on Android.6.0 Marshmallow with HTC Sense UI on top and offers single SIM functionality. In photography, the Desire 650 packs a 13-megapixel autofocus camera at the back with f/2.2 aperture, BSI sensor and LED flash, capable of recording 1080p video, while it is equipped with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with f/1.8 aperture and BSI sensor as well. Connectivity options included are 4G LTE, 3G, 2G, Bluetooth, WiFi, and GPS. It is backed by a 2200mAh battery. According to HTC, the battery can render up to 17 hours of talk time and 672 hours of standby time.
The phone is sported by NDTV mentioned on a Taiwanese news site proclaiming a price of TWD 5,490 ($165) and early December availability.*ADS
