Samsung today has introduced Galaxy J2 Ace, the company’s newest entry-level smartphone under its “J series” in India. The device is clad in a plastic body with a rugged back cover for easy grip during use, having a thick body profile of 132.6×69.3×8.9mm and a noticeable light weight of 131 grams.
It features a 5.0-inch LPS TFT capacitive touch display with a qHD resolution of 540×960 pixel. Under the hood, it is driven by a 64-bit quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor with a clock speed of 1.4GHz, slammed with 1.5GB of RAM and Mali-T720 GPU. There is an 8GB of storage inside that can be expanded via MicroSD card.
Like other Galaxy J family, the Galaxy J2 Ace comes with Ultra Data Saving (UDS) mode powered by Opera that minimizes costs and hasten webpage loading by reducing data consumption, and S Bike mode for advance management and smart response when on bike. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and includes two SIM slots one of which can supports 4G VoLTE at a time (switchable).
In optics, the smartphone sports an 8-megapixel autofocus rear-facing camera with LED flash and HD (720p) video recording capability, while it houses a 5-megapixel camera at the front, also accompanied with a selfie flash. Other connectivity options included apart from 4G VoLTE are Bluetooth, WiFi, 3G, 2G, GPS, FM radio and Micro-USB. It is fuelled by a 2,600mAh battery.
The Samsung Galaxy J2 Ace carries a price tag of Rs 8,490 (US$124) which is a bit expensive. It will be available in Gold, Silver, and Black colors when it go on sale across the region.
The company earlier this month launched Galaxy J1 4G (SM-J120G) in India which also supports 4G VoLTE. It features a 4.5-inch WVGA Super AMOLED display, packs a quad-core Spreadtrum processor with 1GB RAM, sports 5MP and 2MP cameras, and is sealed at the back with a 2050mAh battery, all at Rs 6,890 ($101).*ADS
