The Vivo U20 today launched in India. The phone comes with a 6.53-inch LCD screen that touts a Full HD+ (2340×1080) resolution, an aspect ratio of 19:9, and 90.3% screen-to-body ratio. Above the display is a waterdrop notch that serves as a housing for the 16MP f/2.0 selfie camera.
Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 octa-core chipset running at a speed of 2.0GHz, paired with 4GB of RAM and Adreno 612 GPU. The firm is also offering a 6GB RAM version, although 64GB is the only storage option offered. The storage can be expanded up to 256GB via MicroSD card. The memory card slot is independent. There are two SIM slots with dual standby that can accept two SIM cards at a time.
Apart from the 16MP front camera, the Vivo U20 is also equipped with triple camera at the back – the main shooter is a 16MP (f/1.78) sensor with a Sony IMX499 sensor, followed by an 8MP ultra-wide angle lens (120°) with an f/2.2 aperture, and a 2MP macro camera with an f/2.4 aperture. The cameras are vertically aligned at the upper left while a single LED flash is placed beneath.
A fingerprint sensor is also mounted to the back for biometric identification. The phone runs FunTouch OS 9.1 based on Android 9.0 Pie out-of-the-box. In terms of connectivity, the Vivo U20 supports Bluetooth 5, WiFi 802.11ac (dual band), Dual 4G VoLTE, 3G, GPS + GLONASS, Micro-USB, 3.5mm audio jack, and FM radio. The Micro-USB also supports reverse charging via OTG.
It measures 162.15×76.47×8.89mm, weighs 193 grams, and is backed by a 5000mAh battery with supports for 18W Dual Engine fast charging. The U20 will be up for purchase on Amazon and Vivo eStore from November 28th at a price of Rs 10,999 (US$154) for the 4GB RAM version and Rs 11,999 (US$168) for the 6GB RAM version.
