2021 Budget: NFF To Get N1.2bn From Ministry Of Sports


The Nigeria Football Federation is to get the amount of N1,231,725,243 from the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development budget for the 2021 financial year.

According to PUNCH, the Ministry of Sports proposed the amount of N181,104,352,458 is spent in the 2021 financial year.

In the budget which was introduced by President Muhammadu Buhari to the joint meeting of the National Assembly on October 8, the games ministry’s budget speaks to 1.38 percent of the nation’s complete budget of N13, 082,420,568,233 for the year.

The budget still can’t seem to be passed by the National Assembly.

The budget breakdown record which was accumulated by our journalist shows that the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports base camp will get an aggregate of N12.906,730,121 while the amount of N164,316,342,783 has been reserved for the National Youth Service Corps, the biggest of the ministry’s appointment for the monetary year.

The amount of N1,730,179,597 has been saved for Citizenship and Leadership Training Center while in sports, the amount of N1,231,725,243 has been appropriated for the NFF costs for 2021.

The NFF anyway will spend the heft of their budget appointment on brandishing exercises for the year which adds up to N755,495,006 while an absolute amount of N106,071,322 will be spent on pay rates.

This comes after the deferment of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations to 2022 for the men’s senior public group however there will qualify games for AFCON and 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Different costs incorporate – acquisition of transports – N45m, clinical costs – N1.5m with N2.5m put in a safe spot for exposure and promotion.

In the 2019 monetary year, the ministry got N126.55bn with the NFF getting N1.12bn; NIS – N498.21m; the NYSC – N111.6bn; the ministry central command – N7.9bn while the Citizenship and Leadership Center got N1.31bn.

The budget breakdown shows the games ministry will burn through 94.22 percent (N170,634,907,391) of the all-out budget on faculty and overhead cost, which incorporates compensations, wages, remittances, and social commitments while the other 5.78 percent will go to capital consumption.

The National Assembly has guaranteed Nigerians its availability to pass the 2021 budget before the year’s end.
