ARCHOS, the french technology firm, today launched its first Android Go edition smartphone dubbed Access 57. The phones comes in 3G and 4G models—the 3G model having an 8GB inbuilt storage, while the 4G model comes with a 16GB of inbuilt storage. Both however, supports external MicroSD expansion slot (up to 64GB). The OS is Android 8.1 Oreo Go.
The Access 57 features a 5.7-inch display as its naming depicts, but with a rather poor FWVGA+ (480 x 960) resolution. The screen aspect ratio is 18:9. Powering the device is a quad-core Spreadtrum SC9832E processor running at a speed of 1.4GHz, coupled with a 1GB of RAM, which should be enough for smooth multitasking experience considering the half-baked Android platform it is based on.
In photography, the phone sports a rear-facing 8-megapixel camera that can record 1080p video, while it sports a 2-megapixel front camera. The rear camera is accompanied by a LED flash. Other connectivity included apart from the aforementioned 4G and 3G are Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, GPS, FM radio, and a 3.5mm audio jack. It is powered by a 2400mAh removable Li-ion battery.
The ARCHOS Access 57 wears a price tag of €80, which translates to roughly $94 US Dollars. It should be available in the European market in coming days.
