During the Imo north senatorial election, from the build-up to the election up until the election day, it has been one controversy or the other, even within the All Progressive Congress as a party, which made it difficult and took time before Rochas Okorocha was declared the winner and given a certificate of return.
After then, there has been a matter of who is the legitimate candidate of the APC for the Imo North senatorial election, a matter that was taken to court.
On Thursday, March 18, a federal High Court in Abuja issued an order of 72 hours ultimatum for INEC to issue the certificate of return to Ararume based on the result of the December 5, 2020, Imo North Senatorial bye-election.
The joy and celebration in Ararume’s camp was court short as Imo state high court issued an order of interim injunction to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) restraining it from giving Ararume a certificate of return.
According to a ruling read by Justice E. O. Agba on Thursday, March 18, this order will stand pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice in a suit brought before the court.* BEST DEALS & OFFERS*
