The Italian Fashion sub-brand of Giorgio Armani, Emporio Armani, which is also a member of the Fossil Group, today announced the 2018 edition of its Connected Watch, running Wear OS. The wristwatch is made to cater for those who thirst to have something more intelligible on their wrist without any compromise on the fashion side of dressing.
It has a circular 1.19-inch Super AMOLED display with custom watch faces pre-installed that reflects the company’s logo on the main interface of the watch. The Wear OS it runs even offers more watch faces, which users can download and install from the app store. Different straps are provided to compliment the Black, Silver and Rose Gold stainless steel casing options of the smartwartch, including leather, bracelets, and mesh.
The Emporio Armani Connected Watch (2018) is powered by the aging Snapdragon Wear 2100 chipset, just like its predecessor. What makes the watch “smart” apart from its digital display and the Wear OS it runs is the addition of heart rate sensor for heart rate monitoring, and the inclusion of GPS for indoor and outdoor positioning and tracking, but that’s not all. The WearOS also brings Google Assistant to the wrist.
There is also NFC onboard with supports for Google Pay (Alipay in China). The device is water resistant and it can be used when bathing or light swimming. Moreover, it can survive in up to 3 ATM. It supports Android and iOS out-of-the-box and will easily paired with smartphones running any of the supported mobile operating system.
Pre-order begins today on the company website, with the price set between $295 and $395 depending on customization preference.
