Maj.-Gen Babagana Monguno (retd.), the National Security Adviser (NSA) to President Muhammadu Buhari, has alleged that some funds have been found to be missing under the leadership of the immediate past service chiefs.
In an interview with BBC Hausa, Monguno was quoted to have said: “No one knows what happened to the money but by God’s grace, the president will investigate to find out whether the money was spent and where the arms went.”
Daily Trust reported that The NSA also added that the new service chiefs have not seen any of the arms that the funds were supposed to be used to procure.
The ex-service chiefs are Chief of Defence Staff, General Abayomi Olonisakin; Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen. Tukur Buratai; Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok Ekwe Ibas; and Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar.
