Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has signed an Executive Order prohibiting the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in the state.
The governor who revealed this on Wednesday during a state-wide broadcast in Port Harcourt clarified that the state is home to all clans.

“We have everything against the presence and exercises of the legitimately prohibited and anarchic Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and whatever that gathering represents in Rivers State,” he said.
“This is obviously a psychological oppressor bunch whose presence, belief, mission, and exercises are emphatically decried even by the Government and people groups of the South-Eastern states of the nation.
“I have thusly signed the executive order to strengthen the absolute ban on IPOB and its exercises in Rivers State or any part thereof and nothing will prevent us from upholding this ban completely.”
The declaration comes hours after the government likewise lifted a ban on curfew which had been forced in certain pieces of the state.
A portion of the areas where curfew was placed are; Mile 1, Mile 2, Ilabuchi, Ikokwu territories among others.
Wike anyway said the curfew in Oyigbo Local Government Area stile remains while the Ikokwu market stays shut.
