HTC has announced that starting from August 4 which is today, HTC One M9 users in EMEA regions (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) will start receiving Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update. The update has already rolled out in US and its sub regions in past weeks and its time for those in aforementioned regions which includes Nigeria to enjoy it as well.

This was made known by Graham Wheeler, HTC’s Product and Service Director on Twitter yesterday. However, details of what the update will bring along is not mentioned. To receive the update, users will need to enable auto update in Settings -> About Phone, they can also manually check under same menu.

It might take some time for the update to reach all device, so you shouldn’t feel disappointed if you don’t get the new update notification today or this week, it also depends on network carriers most time.
