Huawei Honor introduced a new laptop in China following the launch of its Honor 10 smartphone on Thursday. The MagicBook as called, is a 14-inch laptop that has a 14-inch anti-glare matte display packed into a 13-inch screen to minimize its size footprint. The body is made of aluminium with the thinnest point measuring 15.8mm, while the overall weight is 1.47kg.
The laptop display uses IPS panel for backlighting which can produce 800:1 contrast ratio and up to 250nits of brightness, with the resolution set at Full HD (1920×1080 pixel). Moreover, the display can be flipped up to 180-degree for convenience of use in certain environment. Moving on, powering the Honor MagicBook is an 8th-gen Intel Core i5-8250u (coffee lake) processor coupled with 8GB of RAM and 256GB SSD, while the graphics is handled by a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce MX150 GPU. The company is also providing an 8th-gen Core i7 variant (i7-8550u) with the same RAM, storage and graphics specs.

On the MagicBook, sound is produced by four front-firing speakers placed besides the keyboard with the audio tuned by Dolby Atmos for immersive listening experience. There are dual microphones onboard and an HD webcam for video-conferencing. For security, the laptop also comes equipped with a fingerprint reader that works with Windows Hello for one-touch login.
In connectivity, the device supports 1x USB Type-C port, 1x USB 3.0 port, 1x USB 2.0 port, HDMI, and Mic/3.5mm headphone combo jack. Power is drawn from a 57.4Wh lithium battery.
The Honor MagicBook price starts at CNY 5000 ($800) for the Core i5 model and CNY 5700 ($910) for the Core i7 model.
