Motorola has introduced a new mobile device in Brazil today dubbed Moto G8, which is a vanilla version of the Plus model that was released last year. The phone features a 6.4-inch Max Vision LCD screen that touts an HD+ (1560×720) resolution and an aspect ratio of 19:9. Above the display at the top-left is a punch-hole that serves as a housing for the 8MP (f/2.0) quad pixel selfie camera.
Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 octa-core chipset running at a speed of 2.0GHz, slammed with 4GB of LPDDR4x RAM and Adreno 610 GPU. 64GB (eMMC 5.1) is the only storage option offered, but it can be expanded up to 512GB via MicroSD card. The memory card shared the same slot with the secondary SIM slot, while the main SIM slot is independent.

Apart from the 8MP front camera, the Moto G8 is also equipped with triple camera at the back – the main shooter is a 16MP (f/1.7) sensor with 0.8um pixel size and PDAF, followed by an 8MP ultra-wide action camera (118°) with f/2.2 aperture, and a 2MP macro camera with Laser Auto Focus. Beside the cameras is a single LED flash for low-light photography.
A fingerprint sensor is mounted to the back underneath the Moto logo for one touch login access. The phone is IPX2 splash resistant certified, and it also have two microphones for clear communication. It runs Android 10 out-of-the-box. The Android 10 it brings is pre-loaded with Motorola Moto Experiences with a Gametime software that let users maximize the gaming potential of the phone while gaming.
In terms of connectivity, the Moto G8 supports Bluetooth 5, WiFi, Dual 4G VoLTE, 3G, GPS + GLONASS, NFC, USB Type-C, 3.5mm audio jack, and FM radio. It measures 161.27×75.8×8.95mm, weighs 188.3 grams, and is backed by a 4000mAh Battery with supports for 10W Rapid Charging.
The phone has a plastic back with patterns and is themed in White and Blue colors. It is available for purchase in Brazil for BRL 1143 (US$248). It will roll out in other select markets including Latin America, Europe, Asia, and Australia sometime later.
