Sony Xperia 8

Sony Mobile has introduced a new smartphone under its Xperia line-up, the Xperia 8 – bringing with it a Full HD+ LCD display with a CinemaWide 21:9 aspect ratio that is Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protected. The Gorilla Glass 6 is also used to protect the rear of the phone.

Powering the device is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 14nm octa-core chipset running at a speed of 2.2GHz, paired with Adreno 508 GPU. The Xperia 8 comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, however, the limited storage is user-expandable up to 512GB via MicroSD card.

At the rear resides dual camera – the main camera has a 12MP sensor with f/1.8 aperture and electronic image stabilization (EIS), while the secondary is an 8MP telephoto lens with an f/2.4 aperture for 2x optical zoom. There is also an 8MP camera with an f/2.0 aperture at the front.

The Xperia 8 relied on a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security and it is water and dust resistant certified with IPX5/IP6X rating. It supports Hi-Res Audio with LDAC, while it drawn its power from a 2760mAh battery with supports for fast charging.

The phone will be available in late October for JP¥50,000 (US$467) tax exclusive, or JP¥54,000 (US¥505) tax inclusive in Japan. Blue, Orange, Black, and Gray are the color options.
