EE has announced its own 4G tablet,
The EE Eagle. The EE Eagle is a low-cost 4G tablet made by Huawei and was said according to the company’s chief marketing officer Pippa Dunn will rivals the Apple iPad mini. It features an 8-inch display.
The Eagle EE will be running Android 4.2 Jelly bean out-of-the-box, KitKat would have been mostly preferred and there’s no any confirmation about potential KitKat upgrade. It is powered by 1.6GHz quad core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM, the full details of the processor being used is yet to be known. 16GB internal storage is included which ofcourse can be expanded up 32GB via MicroSD card.
The full specs of the device is yet to be revealed.
The EE Eagle doesn’t feel overly premium – where the G Pad 8.3 and iPad mini have metal bodies this tablet is completely plastic. That’s hardly a surprise considering the price,
though the screen on the EE Eagle is acceptable at 800×1280, and it is on a par with the original iPad Mini, but it doesn’t come close to the iPad Mini 2 or G Pad in terms of detail or brightness, with colours appearing washed out.
If you are looking for a low cost 4G capable tablet with large display and wouldn’t consider other irrational specs, you can go for it. The Eagle EE will be available in the UK starting from 28th of May at a price of £199.99 no contract.*ADS
