If you are one of the patriotic Samsung Galaxy S7 users that has upgraded his/her phone from Android 7.0 or Android 6.0 to Android 8.0 Oreo, and you are wondering on how to go about the rooting procedure, I am here to help. Today, I will be sharing how Galaxy S7 users with Android 8.0 Oreo stock ROM can root their device easily.
The procedure required PC and only four things are needed, they are listed below:

- Odin
- Samsung driver
- TWRP Recovery for SM-G930F, SM-930FD, SM-G930W8
- TWRP Recovery for SM-G30L, SM-G930K, SM-G930S
- Magisk
Download the four tools above and follow the next steps below to proceed. Please note that this tutorial is meant for these Galaxy S7 models: SM-G930F, SM-G930FD, SM-G930W8, SM-G930L, SM-G930K, and SM-G930S.
Now, let’s proceed.
How to Root Galaxy S7 Oreo Stock ROM using TWRP and Magisk
- Install the Samsung driver to your PC
- Extract the Odin.zip file to your desktop
- Inside the extracted Odin folder, copy the TWRP recovery.img.tar and save within the Odin folder
- Save the Magisk file to your phone storage
- On your phone, enable the developer options by going to Settings -> About phone -> Software information
- Under “Software information” tap the build number seven times to enable “developer options”
- Now, go to Settings -> Developer options and enable “OEM Unlock” and “USB Debugging”
- Turn off the phone then press the Volume Down+Power+Home button simultaneously to boot into the download mode, after this press the Volume up button once
- Connect your phone to your PC via USB
- On your computer desktop in the Odin folder, launch the Odin.exe
- You’ll see “Added” message on Odin once launched
- Tick the PA/PDA box then browse to the TWRP recovery.img.tar that you downloaded earlier
- Click the “Start” button to flash the recovery
- You will see a success message and your phone will reboot
- Disconnect and remove your phone from the PC
- Turn the phone off again and press the Volume Up+Power+Home button simultaneously to boot into the TWRP custom recovery you’ve just flashed
- Swipe to allow modifications
- Select Install
- Browse to the Magisk file you downloaded earlier and swipe the install button to begin
- Wait for few seconds until all is completed
- Press the back button thrice to return to TWRP home
- Go to “Reboot” and select “System”
If you follow these steps accurately you will have an 100% success rate in rooting your phone.
