Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 With Helio X10 Chipset, MIUI 7 Officially Launched

The Apple of China, Xiaomi, has officially announced its next smartphone in Redmi series in an ongoing event in China, Redmi Note 3, which has long been rumored for a while. It comes in two variants, 2GB RAM with 16GB storage and 3GB RAM with 32GB storage, both priced at CN¥ 899 ($140 USD) and CN¥ 1099 ($171 USD) respectively. The device will be available for orders starting this week in China while availability for global regions is not yet revealed.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is an upgraded variant and successor Redmi Note 2 launched along with Redmi Note 2 Prime in August. It sports a full metal body that has a thickness of 8.65mm and weight 164 grams. It features a 5.5-inch full-HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) full-laminated display, and runs MIUI 7 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box. It is powered by a 64-bit octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 processor paired with PowerVR G6200 GPU.

One of the main highlight of Redmi Note 3 is its possession of fingerprint sensor which is placed at the back for smart security. Also, it packs a huge 4000mAh battery which according to Xiaomi can charge up to 50 percent in an hour via fast charging functionality onboard. In photography, the smartphone packs a 13-megapixel camera with PDAF (Phase Detection Auto Focus) and dual-tone LED flash at the rear, while it sports a 5-megapixel camera at the front.

Connectivity options included are Bluetooth 4.1, Wifi 802.11ac, 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, 2G, and GPS/A-GPS. It will be available in Gold, Silver and Grey when it goes on sale.
