The Taiwanese phone manufacturer, HTC, has officially announced its latest budget smartphone which has long been expected, the One A9. It will start rolling out globally from first week of November, however, its pricing details is not revealed. According to report reaching us, the One A9 3GB RAM/32GB storage Unlocked version is currently available for pre-orders in US for a limited time period at a price of $399.99 (#80,000 NGN),
In terms of specifications, the HTC One A9 falls between middle-class and upper-class, or we can say it combines both. Doesn’t live up to meet its gran in “M” series, though it is the first in “A” series. A beginning chapter of flagships to come. Specwise, it features a 5-inch AMOLED display with full-HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution, layed on top with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 for protection. It is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 (4-core 1.5GHz + 4-core 1.2GHz) processor coupled with Adreno 405 GPU. The device comes in two variants, 2GB RAM with 16GB storage and 3GB RAM with 32GB storage, both of which is expandable up to 2TB via MicroSD card.
Notably, the One A9 runs Google latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box, which is further enhanced with HTC Sense UI. Also, it has a multi-directional fingerprint sensor embedded underneath the physical home button for smart security, authentication and mobile payment (Android Pay). Sitting at the back is a 13-megapixel camera with PDAF (Phase Detection Auto Focus), f/2.0 aperture, OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), BSI sensor and LED flash, capable of recording videos in full-HD (1080p), while an UltraPixel camera with f/2.0 aperture is placed at the front for selfie.
Connectivity options included are Bluetooth 4.1, Wifi 802.11ac, 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, GPRS/EDGE, GPS/A-GPS and NFC. It is backed by a 2150mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0. The HTC One A9 comes in Topaz Gold, Opal Silver, Carbon Grey and Deep Garnet color options.
