Zuk Z1 Is Another Flagship Killer From Lenovo, Lenovo? Not Really

Zuk, a sub-branch of Lenovo company today has announced a new flagship killer in China, the Zuk Z1. The smartphone will be available for pre-orders starting from 18th of August on the firm website, with a price tag of CN¥ 1799 ($285 USD approximately). There’s no word on global availability.

The main highlight of Zuk Z1 is the present of USB Type-C port which offers 10 times the rate of data transfer speed over regular USB 2.0 port. We think it’s important to let you know that Zuk Z1 is the fourth smartphone in the world to pack USB Type-C port after LeTv Le 1, Innos D6000 and OnePlus 2, no phone maker has yet adapt it to smartphone outside China. Google implemented USB-C on its Chromebook Pixel, Apple used it on its 2015 Macbooks and HP used it on Pro Tablet 608, but besides these firms none else has embrace it.

The Zuk Z1 comes in a premium aluminium frame and sports a fingerprint scanner beneath the physical home button called U-Touch, this triggers different action depending on how it is pressed. Specwise, the device features a 5.5-inch full-HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS display and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out-the-box topped with ZUI UI.

Under the hood, it is driven by a 64-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with a clock speed of 2.5GHz slammed with 3GB LPPDDR3 of RAM and Adreno 330 GPU. There is a 64GB of built-in storage onboard with no external storage support. At the rear, the Zuk Z1 harbours a 13-megapixel autofocus camera with f/2.2 aperture, OIS (optical image stabilization), and Sony IMX214 sensor, while an 8-megapixel camera with OmniVision OV8865 sensor is placed at the front. Connectivity options included are 4G LTE, 3G (HSPA+), GPRS/EDGE, GPS/A-GPS, and Bluetooth 4.1. It is fuelled by a 4,100mAh battery.
