So far so good, we are happy to announce that HTC One (M8) users can now experience and feel Google newest Android 5.0.1 Lollipop OS on their phone starting from Wednesday. The firm has publicly announced that the update is up and users can now download it via OTA (over-the-air) which is normally located under Settings menu.
However, the newly released Android 5.0 Lollipop updates are only meant for those that are using HTC One M8 Unlocked (SIM-free) Edition and Developer Edition, the update may be soon roll-out for other editions but no timeline is given. What’s new? As said earlier, you get Google newest Android OS version topped with HTC Sense 6 UI. HTC new Eye Experience should also be onboard though we aren’t sure for now.

What’s more? New lock screen and notifications are also added. The update is around 585MB in size and the new software version is 4.16.1540.8.
For those that are unaware of its specifications, the One M8 features a 5-inch full-HD Super LCD display touting a pixel density of 441ppi and runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat out-of-the-box which is now upgradeable to Android 5.0 Lollipop.
The smartphone is powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 (MSM8974AB) coupled with Adreno 330 GPU and 2GB of RAM. Other features include 16GB built-in storage, 4-ultrapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front camera and 2600mAh battery.
