The Redmi 5 has finally reached India shore months after it was announced in China. The device will be available exclusively on Amazon.in and at Xiaomi Mi Home store from March 20th. Pricing varies depending on model. The cheapest with 2GB RAM + 16GB storage is priced at Rs 7999 ($120); followed by Rs 8999 ($135) for the 3GB RAM + 32GB storage version, while the high-end version with 4GB RAM + 64GB storage costs Rs 10999 ($165).
The Redmi 5 runs Android 7.1 Nougat buttered with MIUI 9. It features a 5.7-inch HD+ 18:9 display; is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 450 chipset; sports 12MP+5MP cameras, and is backed by a 3300mAh battery. It has a fingerprint scanner and an Infrared sensor.

The company last month introduced Redmi Note 5 in India, which is the same Redmi 5 Plus that was launched in China last year. It has a slightly bigger 5.99-inch screen with Full HD+ (2160p) resolution and is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor. It also packed a larger 4000mAh battery.
