The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), as the remains of Flight Lieutenant Haruna Gadzama, the brave pilot that averted a near disaster in Abuja when a Nigerian Air Force plane, a Beechraft KingAir BB305i crashed in Abuja, 7 personnel involved, have been buried at the National Military Cemetery, Abuja.
Other victims were Flight Lieutenant Haruna Gadzama (Captain), Flight Lieutenant Henry Piyo (Co-Pilot), Flying Officer Micheal Okpara (Airborne Tactical Observation System Specialist) and Warrant Officer Bassey Etim (ATOS Specialist), Flight Sergeant Olasunkanmi Olawunmi (ATOS Specialist), Sergeant Ugochukwu Oluka (ATOS Specialist), and Aircraftman Adewale Johnson (Onboard Technician).
The bodies were laid to rest at exactly 1pm and accorded the full Military honours and traditional 21 gunshot salute. It was an emotional moment as family members of the deceased, colleagues of the late officers, including the Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Oladayo Amao wept uncontrollably.
