He grew up and spent his childhood in Ogun State, Nigeria, where he had started his basic education at the Mayflower School located at Ikenne, Ogun State.
Succeeding the divorce of his parents while he was 12, he went back to the United Kingdom where he had completed his high school education at the Kings Langley Secondary School, Hertfordshire, Watford.
While at Kings Langley, Anthony Joshua usually engaged in sporting and athletic events and he was known to be a good footballer and a very fast 100m relay athlete.
