Ruggedness is not something new in smartphone and laptop sector, but when it comes to smartwatch, there has been a very limited supply, the limited can’t even be guarantee to be rugged. Casio seems to be aware of this and has come forward at this year CES event to showcase its latest product, the Casio WSD-F10, an Android Wear powered smartwatch that first cross the line into an un-occupied rugged space in the smartwatch sector.
The Casio WSD-F10 is built to meet military standard specifications with MIL-STD-810G certification and can withstand extreme temperature, pressure, dust and other harsh environmental conditions. Also, it can survive in up to 50 meters deep of water.

With recent changes in Android Wear operating system, the smartwatch is compatible with smartphones running on Android 4.3+ and iOS. It features a 1.32-inch dual-layer circular TFT LCD and Monochrome display with a resolution of 320×300 pixel.
The Casio WSD-F10 can track and monitor different outdoor activities using different sensors onboard, including Gyroscope, Accelerometer, Compass and Pressure (altitude and air). It also use these sensors to measure changes in natural environment,this can be monitor via an accompanied app.
Connectivity options included are Bluetooth 4.1 LE and WiFi. According to the company, the device can deliver more than 24 hours of use in normal mode and 1 month of use in timepiece mode (power conservation mode).
It will be available starting from April in the United States and Japan at about $500 USD.
