In December 2019, Comrade Ukpekpiwas kidnapped by some GUNMEN before he was released after negotiations and ransom paid, barely a year and 3months later, the chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, CROSS River State chapter, was again kidnapped on Sunday, March 21 2021, and according to his son, Frank, his father was kidnapped around past 6pm in the evening on Sunday. No words from the kidnappers yet and not a word or confirmation from the police in Cross River state.
