Football – England Premier League
Match Venue: Stamford Bridge
Thomas Tuchel would take charge of his second game as manager of Chelsea football club when they welcome Sean Dyche’s Burnley to Stamford Bridge.
The Blues seemed to be free falling before the sack of club legend, Frank Lampard to put an end to ill results.
Chelsea now sit in 8th position, seven points away from the final Champions League spot and now seem out of the title race, with new manager Thomas Tuchel, admitting it in his press conference after his first game as Chelsea manager.
Thomas Tuchel said, “In the end, I am very realistic, I am in a club whose DNA is to win. I am here to challenge for every trophy we play for. This year it is the Champions League and FA Cup, for the Premier League it is not realistic.”
Burnley who have had three victories in their past five premier league games, will be confident coming into this game, having won in their last two matches.
But a revived Chelsea will be a hard one for Sean Dyche’s Burnley, with Thomas Tuchel seemingly leaving no stones unturned in his quest to turn the club fortunes around.
The German tactician recently had his players training with mini balls in a bid to improve their control and the accuracy of their tackles.
But 15th placed Burnley won’t be fazed by the optimism in the West London club. Burnley are one of the teams who sit deep, defend and counter with great long balls.
With Burnley players all being physical and strong, it may be difficult for this Thomas Tuchel side to break through.
But Chelsea would be expecting that and would be working on how to break through. One key player for the Blues is Hudson-Odoi. The player who was man of the match in Thomas Tuchel’s first game was very pivotal in the match, and this Burnley match means a lot to him as this was here he got his first injury that kept him out at a time he was blossoming.
This would surely be a feisty lunch time match, but it seems to be anointed as Chelsea’s first win under new manager Thomas Tuchel, there might not be much goals, but a Chelsea victory is a risk free bet. A bold bet would be a draw, just as the previous match.
