Chelsea v Wolves prediction for today 27/01/2021

Chelsea's Stamford Bridge
Match date: Wednesday, 27th January 2021
Match Time: 7pm
Football – England Premier League
Match Venue: Stamford Bridge
Chelsea welcome Wolves today in a match that is hugely anticipated for the actions behind the scenes.
Chelsea’s former player and coach, Frank Lampard was sacked barely 24 hours after a victory in the FA Cup against Championship side, Luton Town.
Thomas Tuchel, former PSG coach who was hired, had immediately taken to the training ground yesterday as he looked to set things straight away.

Chelsea come on the back of a very inconsistent form, winning only one game in the past five premier League games.
Nuno Espiranto’s Wolves on the other hand, have not been so good either, sitting on 14th position in the premier league standings with no win in their past five premier league games.
Wolves haven’t kept a clean sheet in any of their last 12 Premier League games, the longest current run in the competition, conceding at least twice in each of their last three premier league games, last having a longer such run in the top-flight between February and April 2012 (nine games).

But then, Wolves have only lost three consecutive league games under Nuno Espírito Santo once previously, losing three in a row in October/November 2018. So they would hope to avoid such, having lost to West Brom and Everton.
As much as home form is concerned, Chelsea are quite strong in this fixture. The Blues have won five of their six home Premier League matches against Wolves (D1), winning 2-0 at Stamford Bridge last season.
Also, Chelsea have only lost their first two home top-flight matches in a calendar year three times previously, and not since 1993 when they lost to Man City and Sheffield Wednesday. Having lost already to Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City at the bridge.

Chelsea's Mason Mount

It is also worthy to note that Chelsea’s Mason Mount has created 48 chances in 18 Premier League games this season, only four fewer than he created in 37 games last season (52). Mount is creating a chance on average every 32 minutes this season, the best ratio by an Englishman to play at least five games in a season for the Blues since Frank Lampard in 2009-10 (one every 28 mins).
Tammy Abraham, Chelsea’s striker, have also found it easy scoring against Wolves. In three league starts against Wolves, Tammy Abraham has scored six goals – three for Bristol City in 2016/17 and a hat-trick for current side Chelsea in September 2019; his two league appearances against them since scoring his treble have been both as a substitute, playing just 31 minutes combined.
Add in the fact that Thomas Tuchel isn’t one to start with a loss, expect a sweeping victory for this Chelsea side tonight.
