As this year CES event is about to kick-start, the famous laptop maker Dell, today has announced a new 2-in-1 hybrid Windows 10 laptop under its XPS line-up called XPS 13 2-in-1.Unlike other XPS 13 series that are currently dominating world markets, the new device is convertible, meaning, it can fit in whatever environment users find themselves, thanks to its flexible hinge that can be rotated up to 360-degree, enabling users to use it in four different modes, Stand, Tablet, Laptop, and Tent.
Dell claimed the new XPS 13 2-in-1 is smaller when compare with thinnest laptops currently in markets, making an example of HP Spectre x360, Lenovo Yoga 910 and others, though what it meant by “smaller” is not further discussed—probably in dimensions and weight we think. Technically, the laptop features a 13.3-inch screen that is held in position by a 5.2mm thin bezel which Dell likes to call InfinityEdge, boasting an UltraSharp QHD+ (3200×1800 pixel) resolution. The laptop is also offered in full-HD for the less privilege.

Diving in, it is powered by a seventh-generation Intel Core i7-7Y75 (Kaby Lake) processor clocked at 3.6GHz or Intel Core i5-7Y74 (Kaby Lake) processor clocked at 3.2GHz depending on user preference, with 4GB/8GB/16GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB/512GB/1TB SSD storage available to choose from. The XPS 13 2-in-1 comes with a full-size backlit keyboard and there is an HD webcam pinned to its InfinityEdge bezel at the top for video-calling and conferencing, however, the webcam is not programmed to work with Windows Hello facial recognition. But thankfully there is a fingerprint scanner onboard that supports Hello.
Connectivity options included with the device are Thunderbolt 3 port, 2x USB Type-C ports, DisplayPort, MicroSD card reader, and 3.5mm audio jack. Due to its lack of the common USB-A port, the company will be shipping an adapter that offers USB-A port with every system. 46WHr battery included is claimed to offer up to 10 hours of Netflix steaming on the full-HD version and 7 hours on the QHD+ version, while it can maintain up to 15 hours of normal use in a single charge on the full-HD version.
The Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 will be available at a starting price of $999,99 USD from January 5 in selected regions.
