The fourth studio album by American rapper Kendrick Lamar is Damn (stylized as DAMN.) It was released by Top Dawg Entertainment, distributed by Aftermath Entertainment and Interscope Records, on April 14, 2017.
The album features production from a number of record artists, including Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith, Sounwave, DJ Dahi, Mike Will Made It, and Ricci Riera, executive producer and label-head of Top Dawg Entertainment; as well as more production contributions, among others, from James Blake, Steve Lacy, BadBadNotGood, Greg Kurstin, The Alchemist, and 9th Wonder. Along with Irish rock band U2, Darn features performances from singers Rihanna and Top Dawg signee Zacari.

Lamar released the lead single for the album, “Humble” on March 30, 2017, accompanied by a music video. On the US Billboard Hot 100, it reached number one, and on the Canadian Hot 100 chart, number two. “Loyalty” featuring Rihanna, was released on June 20, 2017, to rhythmic and urban contemporary radio as the album’s second single.
On April 18, 2017, the music video for the album, ‘DNA’, was released. The single reached the Billboard Hot 100 at number four, being Lamar’s second highest-charting single after “Humble” as a solo artist.
With the purpose of recording with Gucci Mane, Mike Would produced the beat for “Humble” but later showed it to Lamar. It was originally settled upon after recording that it will be released on Mike Will’s Ransom 2 debut album, but some persuaded Lamar to retain it for his next album of his own.
“DNA” was the album’s second single to be released, after “Humble,” by Lamar and Mike Will. Lamar began rapping the second verse a cappella after the first verse of ‘DNA’ was captured with the beat that Mike Will had already set, demanding that Mike Will create the beat around the rap.
