FREETEL, the Japanese phone manufacturer, has launched a new mid-end smartphone exclusively in Japan called REI (FTJ161B-REI). Wrapped in a sleek metal body that measure just 7.22mm at its thickest point, the device features a 5.2-inch IPS display with full-HD (1920×1080) resolution and pixel density of 424ppi, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It is driven on the inside by a 64-bit octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor clocked at 1.3GHz, coupled with 3GB of RAM and Mali-T720 GPU.
There is a 32GB of built-in storage onboard which is further expandable via MicroSD card (up to 128GB). The REI runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box topped with FREETEL UI, and supports hybrid dual SIM. It sports a 13-megapixel autofocus camera at the rear with Phase Detection Auto Focus and LED flash, while it bears a secondary 8-megapixel camera at the front for taking selfie. Connectivity options included are Bluetooth 4.0 LE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4GHz/5GHz), 4G LTE Cat.4, 3G, 2G, GPS/A-GPS, and Micro-USB. It is backed by a 2800mAh battery, rated to deliver up to 12.5 hours of talk time and 288 hours of standby time.

The FREETEL REI costs JPY 29900 ($275 USD) and will be available from next week. It comes in five different colours, Pink Gold, Champagne Gold, Metal Silver, Metal Black, and Sky Blue.
