Google Android One Expanded To Pakistan With QMobile A1

Google has expanded its Android One project to Pakistan, partnering with QMobile to launch a new Android One smartphone named as QMobile A1. The phone was announced on Monday and it’s available for purchase within the region with a price tag of PKR 11,500 (Roughly $108 USD).

Android One existence began in September last year when Google partnered with three phone manufacturing companies in India to launch its first Android One running smartphones, Spice Dream Uno, Karbonn Sparkle V, and Micromax Canvas A1. From there, Google has expanded the program to eight more regions with Pakistan being the ninth.

The QMobile A1 sports identical specifications with previous releases, it features a 4.5-inch IPS display with WVGA (480×854 pixels) resolution and runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box. A 1.3GHz quad-core processor powered the device on the inside, backed with 1GB of RAM.

The dual-SIM enabled QMobile A1 houses an 8GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 32GB via MicroSD card while it offers Bluetooth, Wifi, 3G, 2G, GPS, and Micro-USB as connectivity options. At the rear, it harbours a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash while it bears a secondary 2-megapixel camera at the front for video calling. It is fuelled by a 1700mAh battery.
