Google Launches Home Mini and Home Max Smart Speakers with Assistant

Google at its Pixel event earlier today introduced two new smart speakers, Google Home Mini and Google Home Max, both of which comes with Google Assistant built-in. The first is Google’s answer to Amazon’s Alexa Dot, very compact in size with a fabric material covering the speaker grill at the half top while the half bottom is made of hardened plastic.

At the center of its fabric top are four micro-LED lights that serves as indicator light. The Home Mini is a smaller and cheaper version of Google Home with the same feature embedded, with it, users can stream music, listen to news stories, fetch weather updates, search the internet, and even control other smart devices in the house using their voice.

Google Home Max

The Google Home Max as its naming implies, has larger woofer system that can produce 20 times more powerful sounds than the original Google Home. It is box shaped and the speaker grill is covered with fabric as well.

Google is boasting of a new feature implemented in the device called “Smart Sound” which uses AI (Artificial Intelligence) to adapt, personalize and blend in any environment. Smart Sound auto adjusts and regulate the sound output depending on where Home Max is placed in a room. It intelligently tune itself to fit your preference.

Four micro-LED lights are centered on the front fabric speaker grill which serves as indicator light. The Home Max supports wide range of streaming service and it can also be paired with supported devices via Bluetooth and Auxiliary port provided.

The Google Home Mini and Home Max are priced at $49 and $399, respectively. The first comes in Chalk, Charcoal, and Coral color options while the later is painted in Chalk and Charcoal colors only. The Home Mini is available for pre-orders and will go on sale on October 19th. The Home Max will be available for pre-order in mid-November in the U.S.
