HTC has launched a new high-end Android smartphone under its “Desire” series, the Desire 820. The smartphone officially announced by the firm will be globally available towards the end of September. The highlight of the new device is its possession of a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon processor.
The Desire 820 features a 5.5-inch IPS display with an HD resolution 720×1280 pixels. It offers Single SIM (Nano) functionality and runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box overlay with the company’s Sense UI.
The new HTC Desire smartphone is powered by a 64-bit octa-core (1.5GHz quad-core + 1.0GHz quad-core) Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, slammed with 2GB of RAM. It comes with 16GB of built-in storage that is expandable up to 128GB via Micro-USB.

On the rear side is a 13-megapixel rear camera with BSI sensor and LED flash, while it also sports an 8-megapixel secondary front camera for best selfie shot. Connectivity options included with the Desire 820 are Wifi, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS, 4G LTE, 3G, Micro-USB, and FM radio. It is backed by a 2600mAh battery, rated to deliver up to 424 hours of standby time.
