Finally, HTC has officially unveiled a new variant of its One series in China, the One E9+. It caught us by surprise because it is not what we are hoping to see. Earlier this month, we spotted HTC One E9 passing through TENAA with MediaTek chipset which we thought it might surface soon but instead One E9+ seems to have taken the leap.
The smartphone is listed on the firm chinese website along with “Buy Now” button at the bottom of the page but without pricing. Taking a closer look at its specifications, we realize that it matches what was revealed earlier on TENAA with One E9. Does this mean One E9 is One E9+ without the plus sign? Maybe there is no One E9 after all but we doubt it. There are some differences. For instance, the camera pixels.

According to the listing (translated), the One E9+ features a 5.5-inch 2K display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels touting a brilliant pixel density of 534ppi. It is powered by a 64-bit octa-core MediaTek MT6795M processor clocked at 2GHz alongside with 3GB of RAM.
Built-in memory that comes along is not mentioned but we expect atleast a 32GB storage to be onboard which can be further expanded up to 128GB via MicroSD card. The HTC One E9+ packs a 20-megapixel camera at the rear while it is equipped with an ultrapixel camera at the front with HTC Eye Experience. Android 5.0 Lollipop governs all internal activities which is enhanced with HTC Sense UI.
Other features include Boomsound, dual front speakers, Dolby Audio technology, and Behavior detection. Connectivity options included with the One E9 Plus are Wifi, Bluetooth, 4G LTE, 3G, 2G, GPS, and GLONASS.
