Alongside the new Honor smartphone launched earlier today, Huawei also announced a new Android tablet called Honor WaterPlay. As its naming implies, the device is IP67 certified for its water resistance ability. It is clad in a 7.8mm slim metal unibody and has an overall body weight of 465 grams.

It features a 10.1-inch multi-touch display with a pixel resolution of 1920×1200, and deep underneath the display panel is an octa-core Kirin 659 chipset driving the device at a speed of 2.36GHz, coupled with Mali-T830 MP2 GPU. The Honor WaterPlay comes in two variants; the first has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, while the high-end version boasts of 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. These are expandable up to 256GB via MicroSD slots provided.
The tablet runs Android 7.1 Nougat with EMUI 5.1 layed on top and sports a fingerprint sensor on the physical home key. At the back is an 8-megapixel camera, while a selfie camera is equipped at the front. For immersive audio experience, the Honor WaterPlay 3.5mm earphones jack output sound is enhanced with Harman Kardon audio, while the two stereo speakers embedded on the bottom of the device touts Huawei Histen 3D audio tech.
In connectivity aspect, the tablet supports WiFi 802.11ac (2.4GHz+ 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.1 LE, 4G LTE (optional), GPS, and USB Type-C. It is powered by a 6600mAh battery.
Huawei is offering the Honor WaterPlay in WiFi-only and LTE models.

Painted in Champagne and Gold colors, the device is available for pre-orders starting today and will sail on October 24th. No details on pricing and availability for markets outside China.
