Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski won the best men’s player award at the Best Fifa Football Awards ceremony that took place in Zurich, beating last year’s winner Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo to the top prize.
Lewandowski scored 55 goals in just 47 games last season as he helped his team Bayern to a treble.

Lewandowski, 32, completed as the top scorer in the league, cup, and Champions League.
Manchester City defender Lucy Bronze won the best women’s’ player award.
Nominations from national team captains and head coaches, an online ballot of fans, and 200 media representatives decided the winners.
This is the first time ever that Lewandowski has won the award, with Barcelona forward Messi or Juventus’ Ronaldo normally winning.
“In the event that you win such an award and offer that title with Messi and Ronaldo, that is mind-blowing and it implies such a huge amount to me,” Lewandowski said.
“Quite a while past, I recall that I was yearning for something like this and now I can win such an award. This truly implies, paying little heed to where you come from, the only thing that is in any way important is what you put into it.”
