LG is showcasing a notable home device at the upcoming CES 2018 event in Las Vegas next week as the company today unveiled yet another innovative product ahead of the event after making several announcement in the past few days.
LG today announced a new high-end compact projector dubbed HU80K, which is the company’s first to offer 4K UHD pixel resolution. The portable device can beam an image size of up to 150-inch on a wall with an astounding 2,500 lumens of brightness. LG claimed the HU80K is the brightest projector it has ever made. The company revealed that the upright design is only made possible by the mirrorless I-shaped engine which allows the projector to show perfect images whether it is placed on the floor, mounted on the wall or hanging from the ceiling.

The device offers high quality video content in various formats and users got to enjoy cinematic view from the comfort of their home, thanks for its supports of HDR (HDR 10) content. The HU80K projector also has two built-in 7W speakers that provides cinematic audio experience without the need of using external speakers or audio system.
While the projector let users stream video content from external sources such as Blu-ray drives, flash drives, laptop or desktop via HDMI and USB ports, and even browse the internet via Ethernet port included, it also comes pre-installed with the company’s webOS 3.5 smart TV interface, where users will have direct access to top video streaming service providers that offers 4K content, such as Netflix. Besides the aforementioned wired connectivity, the HU80K also supports wireless connectivity.
Chang Ik-hwan, head of LG’s IT business division, said:
At this year’s CES event, we are excited to bring value to consumers with our first 4K UHD projector, which delivers the highest resolution we’ve ever offered in a compact size. LG’s 4K UHD projector will lead the way in changing how consumers view 4K content in any room in the home, wherever there’s an audience.
LG will also be showcasing a new MiniBeam Projector (PF50K) with webOS 3.5 at CES in Las Vegas from January 9 to January 12.
