On Saturday, March 20, the security department of Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) alerted the police when they found the body of a newborn baby beside Ayinke house, Ikeja.

Operatives of Lagos Police Command recovered the dead body, which was reported to be a day-old baby.
According to a statement by spokesman, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, policemen were immediate to the scene where the body of the baby, suspected to have been abandoned overnight, was found. He said, “The baby was suspected to have been abandoned by his mother and must have been exposed to risks that caused his death,”
