Roughly two months after launching the Nubia Z11 Mini in China, ZTE today has announced a bigger and more powerful variant of the device in its homeland dubbed Nubia Z11 Max. Just like its junior, the phone is wrapped in a sleek slim metal body that measure 7.44mm at its thickest point, but weigh 184 grams, more than eye could bargain for. This might be due to a huge 4000mAh battery it packs behind, a plus for longer battery life, but the on-the-go light pocket type might as well consider it as a minus.
The Nubia Z11 Max features a phablet-size 6-inch Super AMOLED display with full-HD (1920×1080) resolution, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. That is an extra 0.8-inch when compare with Z11 Mini. It is driven by a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor with a clock speed of 1.8GHz, slammed with 4GB of RAM and Adreno 510 GPU. There is a 64GB of built-in storage onboard, which can be expanded up to 200GB via MicroSD card.

The phone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop topped with the company’s Nubia UI 3.9.9, and offers hybrid dual SIM slots that enables the secondary SIM slot to be use as a MicroSD card slot. For smart security, a fingerprint sensor is embedded at the rear below the camera for biometric authentication. In photography, the Nubia Z11 Max sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, Sony IMX298 sensor and twin-tone LED flash, while it harbours an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens front camera for taking selfie.
Connectivity options included are WiFi 802.11ac dual band, 4G LTE + VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.1, 3G, 2G, GPS/A-GPS and USB Type-C.
The company also announced a special limited edition of the device named Cristiano Ronaldo Collector’s Edition, themed after the Real Madrid football player Cristiano Ronaldo. The background, wallpaper, icons and menu are themed to match the footballer, and there is a carved Ronaldo signature at the back that further distinguish it from the standard version. ZTE is offering lots of accessories for the device, including swappable back cover, selfie stick and lots more.
The ZTE Nubia Z11 Max is painted in Gold, Silver and Grey colours, and is priced at CNY 1999 ($304 USD). It will be available starting from 16th of June in China. The Collector’s Editor on the other hand is priced at CNY 2299 ($349 USD) and will be available from 18th of June.
