On the back of the Edo governorship race that took place in September 2020, the state high court in Benin had earlier disqualified the duo from the concluded election, however, the Court of Appeal in the south-south state has set aside the judgement of the lower court.
Pastor Ize- Italy and his running mate, Alhaji Gani Audu, were disqualified thereby stopping them from appealing the election that saw the emergence of People’s Democratic party’s candidate Godwin Obaseki and his deputy, Philip Sharibu, but in a judgement by a higher court, today the appeal court in Edo state has put that in the bin and the All Progressive Congress and her candidate can now move on their appeal.
