Philips is set to launch a new smartphone unders its S category in India dubbed as S398. The smartphone along with its full specifications was listed on the firm website without pricing and availability.

The Philips S398 features a 5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 720×1280 pixels. It support dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) functionality and runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box.
The smartphone is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6582M processor, clocked at 1.3GHz along with 1GB of RAM. It comes with 8GB built-in storage which can be further expanded up to 32GB via MicroSD card.

At the rear, the Philips S398 sports an 8-megapixel autofocus camera with CMOS sensor and LED flash while it also houses a 2-megapixel front shooter. Connectivity options included are 3G, Wifi, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS, GPRS/EDGE and Micro-USB. It is backed by a 2040mAh battery.
In October, Philips launched I966 Aurora in China. The smartphone features 5-inch Quad-HD (1440*2560 pixels) with pixel density of 534ppi and runs a customize Android OS named as Yun. The I966 Aurora packs a fingerprint scanner, 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 chipset, 3GB RAM, 4G LTE and 3,000mAh battery.
