RB Leipzig vs Liverpool prediction for today 16/02/2021
A break in the Champions League campaign is over, and Leipzig can move their attention to the highly anticipated clash with Liverpool on Tuesday evening. Overly looking, they are in great shape, second only to the Munich giant in the domestic league, but still with a chance to grab the title, as they are only four points in deficit.
In their last match at home against underdogs from Augsburg, they seemingly played just enough to record a 2:1 victory.
The hosts completely dominated during the first part, deservedly taking the double lead with goals over Olmo (a penalty) and Nkunku, and even though they lowered the game rhythm when the match moved to the second and conceded one from the penalty in the 77th, they kept their focus for the rest of the clash, not leaving much room for a surprise to occur.

RB Leipzig team news
The Germans should miss injured offensive midfielder Szoboszlai (newly signed), midfielder Henrichs (7/0), and forward Forsberg (18/4).
Liverpool
It can be said with a certain dose of safety that Liverpool lost the title race in the Premier League, as they are looking quite insecure for some time, currently being on three matches losing streak.
In their last clash on the road to Leicester, they made another setback, when they suffered a convincing 3:1 defeat. Although the visitors took the lead first in the 67th, the Foxes performed great, being able to completely reverse with goals in the 78th, 81st, and the 85th minute, for a complete downfall of the Reds.
As previously mentioned, Liverpool now has only theoretical chances for a title in this season, currently holding 6th place in the rankings, which is also being under a serious threat. Maybe they can find their consolation in the current Champion League campaign, but with the way they appear, that also seems unrealistic.
Possible Liverpool team news
The guests will miss injured central-backs Fabinho (18/0), Gomez (7/0), Matip (10/1), van Dijk (5/1), and offensive Origi (8/0) and Jota (9/5). Newly signed Davies is doubtful for this one, as well as midfielder Keita (7/0), goalkeeper Kelleher (2/0), and defensive Milner (16/0).
Complete momentum change
Liverpool doesn’t inspire with real confidence recently and their defensive lineup should be quite tested this time. This does come as a great chance for Leipzig, simply knowing the form of the Reds and it’s something that they’ll need to exploit one way or another if they are to increase their chance of progressing further.
