Samsung has officially unveiled its second flip smartphone in China after launching it Galaxy Folder flip device last month, the G9198. The handset is listed on the firm chinese webpage, but the details of its pricing and availability is not revealed. Also, it is not clear if the phone will be released outside China.
The Samsung SM-G9198 flip first leaked on TENAA last month. It comes with dual-screen, one on the inside and the other on the outside with each packing a 3.9-inch Super AMOLED display with WXGA (768×1280 pixels) resolution. Samsung has been much on its own recently with it Exynos chipset which it prefers more than others, but it is surprising that Samsung opted in for Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 for the G9198, same processor that powered the LG G4. This is clocked at 1.8GHz with 2GB of RAM placed inside to back it up.
A 16-megapixel autofocus camera is equipped at the rear with LED flash, while a 5-megapixel camera sits at the front. The G9198 comes with 16GB of inbuilt storage which is expandable up to 128GB via MicroSD card. The official listing failed to show the Android version it runs but we expect Lollipop to be onboard. Connectivity options included are 3G HSPA+, Bluetooth, Wifi, 2G, GPS/A-GPS, and GLONASS.
