Samsung has finally launched the 2016 edition of its Galaxy J2 smartphone in India after several leaks and hear-deafening rumours, most of which turns out to be true. What gives this entry-level device so much attention is Samsung new patented Smart Glow ring that circulate the rear camera, with integrated Smart GlowLED notification system that allows users to customize and prioritize apps (including third-party apps) notifications. Four custom alerts can be set and different colours assign to each alert.
The Smart Glow also notify users of low battery, data connection, and when internal storage is running out. Besides its notification value, it also helps in capturing better selfie using the rear camera. It glows when face is set and align, and when the environment agrees with the shoot button. Opera-powered Ultra Data Saving (UDS) Mode is not left out for better data management and effective data saving across all apps. And users favorite, S Bike Mode is also onboard.

Samsung also introduced a new feature in its Galaxy J2 2016 smartphone called Turbo Speed Technology (TST), that maximize the phone performance and offers better RAM management without having negative impact on battery.
In terms of specifications, the Galaxy J2 2016 features a 5-inch Super AMOLED display with HD (1280×720) resolution and pixel density of 297ppi. It is powered by a quad-core Spreadtrum SC8830 processor with a clock speed of 1.5GHz, clubbed with 1.5GB of RAM and Mali 400MP2 GPU. There is an 8GB of built-in storage onboard that can be further expanded up to 32GB via MicroSD card.
The phone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box topped with TouchWiz UI, and offers dual SIM functionality. It packs an 8-megapixel autofocus camera at the rear with LED flash, and a 5-megapixel camera at the front. Connectivity options included are 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, 3G, 2G, GPS, FM radio and Micro-USB. It is fuelled by a 2600mAh battery.
The Samsung Galaxy J2 2016 is priced at Rs 9,750 ($146 USD), which costs slightly less than Galaxy J2 2015 when it was launched. It will be available in Gold, Silver and Black colours starting from 14th of July across all retailer outlets in India. Availability for other markets is unknown.
