Samsung took the wraps off the Galaxy M40 today as expected. The phone is basically the same as the Galaxy A60 in all aspects, there is no difference whatsoever. It features a 6.3-inch Infinity-O LCD display with Full HD+ resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. There is a punch-hole located at the upper left of the display, this accommodates a 16MP f/2.0 selfie camera. There is no earpiece as the phone relied on screen sound casting technology.
Moving on, the Galaxy M40 is driven by a Snapdragon 675 octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz, clubbed with 6GB of RAM, Adreno 612 GPU and 128GB of storage. The storage can be expanded via a MicroSD card up to 512GB. The phone sports triple camera behind – there is a 32MP main shooter with an f/1.7 aperture, a secondary 5MP depth camera with an f/2.2 aperture, followed by an 8MP ultra-wide angle lens (123°) with an f/2.2 aperture.

The device runs Android 9.0 Pie with One UI overlayed and supports hybrid dual SIM that let users insert two SIM cards at a time or one SIM card and a MicroSD card. There is a fingerprint sensor at the back for biometric security. It lacked the traditional 3.5mm audio jack, but the company is bundling free USB-C headphones in the box.
The phone offered Bluetooth 5.0, WiFi 802.11ac (dual band), Dual 4G VoLTE, 3G, GPS, GLONASS and USB Type-C as connectivity options. It measures 155.2×73.9×7.9mm, weighs 168 grams, and is fuelled by a 3500mAh battery with fast charging supports.
The Galaxy M40 comes in Seawater Blue and Midnight Blue colors. It will go on sale on Amazon India and Samsung stores across the region for Rs 19,990 (US$280) starting from June 19th.
