Sony Mobile has launched a new flagship smartphone to its Xperia portfolio, the Xperia Z3+. While the naming might look a bit odd due to the fact that it bears the dated Z3 name, the plus sign do indicate their is much more to this device that miss the eye.
We are all expecting Xperia Z4 ofcourse, but Sony has played a game and seems to have re-arrange its naming conversion. Last month, Xperia Z4 was launched exclusively in Japan, meaning it will not exceed Japanese markets but the Xperia Z3+ announced by Sony on Tuesday will be available globally excluding Japan.

Here is the catch, the Xperia Z4 and Xperia Z3+ are the same both in specifications, features and even outer layer, the only difference is their naming and the region they will be available. The first stick to Japan only while the later stick to international market. However, pricing and availability details are yet to be disclose.

Specwise, the Sony Xperia Z3+ features a 5.2-inch full-HD (1920×1080 pixels) Triluminous display backed with X-Reality engine. It is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor coupled with Adreno 430 GPU and 3GB of RAM.
At the rear, the smartphone houses a 20.7-megapixel camera with autofocus, Exmor RS sensor and LED flash with 4K (2560p) video recording capability while it harbours a 5-megapixel selfie-enabled front camera. There is a 32GB of built-in storage onboard which is expandable via MicroSD card (up to 128GB).
The Xperia Z3+ runs Android 5.0 Lollipop OS and support 4G LTE. Other connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.1, Wifi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, 3G (HSPA+), 2G, GPS/A-GPS, NFC, MHL 3.0, and NFC.
Much like Xperia Z4, the Xperia Z3+ is waterproof and dustproof with IPX8/IPX5 ratings. It is fuelled by a 2930mAh battery.
It will be available in White, Aqua Green, and Black color variants.
