But since the beginning of this season. Sheffield have suffered a really worrying trend. Even when many thought Chris Wilder would be one of the first managers to be sacked, rather it was West Brom’s Slaven Bilic.

With Chris Wilder even speaking in an interview on 8th January, if his position in the club is being threatened, saying, “I’m Sheffield United manager. Rumours, speculation, nothing really surprises you. As far as I’m concerned, head down and on to the next game.”

Sheffield would be very excited to get their first win in 22 matches in all competitions and their very first win in this season. Though they will be sad that the said win cannot give them 3 points in the Premier League.

As they remain on 2 points with West Brom 6 points clear at 19th position. With the confidence from this victory, Sheffield would be hoping to get their first victory in the Premier League in their next game against Newcastle in the Premier League.

With Newcastle manager, Steve Bruce relishing the clash against Sheffield United in his interview, saying, “It proves how difficult the Premier League is. They took it by storm last year and this year they’ve had a tough run. They’re a very good side still and we’ll have to be at our best to beat them.”
