It is a new season and it still seems like Liverpool’s season to win the premier league trophy. For all of the uncertainty that surrounds the season, Jurgen Klopp has really tried to take his team to the top of the table at the beginning of the new year.
Liverpool lead the Premier League standings with three points, albeit, having played a game more than Manchester United who sit in second position.
Jurgen Klopp’s men seem to have been off the pace as regards their stance at this same point for the past two seasons.
But one need to look closely to be reminded that Liverpool is the only team in the premier league to have lost only one game in the Premier League so far.

Though the team lost their iconic centre back, Virgil Van Dijk to anterior cruciate ligament injury, which would keep the defender out of the season, but they have managed to steady their ship to the January transfer window where reinforcements are expected.
Defensive midfielder, Fabinho, have done a wonderful job filling the position in the absence of senior defenders. With Klopp bemoaning the Premier League’s decision not to expand the number of substitutions to five.
Even when it seems that the club was short in midfield options, the gaffer integrated youth players into the team to help, and they did wonderfully well with Klopp himself singling out Curtis Jones for praise, the 17 year old covering up superbly.
Aside the fact that teams who lead the standings by New Year’s day go on to win the league, Liverpool have the grit to sustain a title challenge.
Though Manchester United sit second with an outstanding match, but with the nature of Ole Solksjaer’s inconsistency, one would expect Liverpool to expect no fear.
The Premier League maybe yet to attain halfway, but with regular challengers, Manchester City faltering, no other team seem to be mounting a proper title challenge. It may just be another special season at the Kop for Jurgen Klopp and his stalwarts.
